Company background

Established immediately after the first world war by Alfred Hawkins, who later served as Normanton Town Clerk and Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

The firm was carried on by his son until 1966 when Michael Sargent became a partner.

In 1973 Michael continued as a sole practitioner until John Brearton joined the firm in 1978.

The firm has grown from its roots in Normanton to now serving clients throughout the whole of the North of England and in recent years has invested considerably in new technology in order to give a more efficient and speedy service.
